Are you passionate about small molecule drug development and eager to apply your expertise in synthetic drugs? We’re seeking a highly motivated Associate Scientist to join the Pivotal Synthetic Drug Product Team at one of the world's leading biotechnnology companies located in Thousand Oaks, CA.

This role is a critical part of the small molecule drug product development efforts , focusing on oral solid dosage formulations such as tablets and capsules.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Serve as member of Drug Product development teams, providing hands-on formulation and process expertise during the development of clinical and commercial formulations for solid oral dosage forms.
• Design and execute formulation experiments, organize and analyze results with minimal supervision, and communicate data and interpretation to work group.
• Ensure that contracted studies are conducted in compliance with the respective protocol and applicable guidelines and regulations.

Qualifications:

We prioritize candidates with a synthetic drug background over biologics , as the skill sets required for this role align more with small molecule drug development . The ideal candidate will have:

• A Bachelor’s (BS) or Master’s degree (MS) in Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Organic Chemistry, or related fields from a reputable institution. Preference for graduates from top pharmaceutics programs.
• Strong academic foundation in small molecule drug product manufacturing, tablet / capsule production, and understanding of typical unit operations for the manufacturing/testing lab of oral solid dosage forms.
• Some pharmaceutical industry with emphasis on oral solid dosage forms preferred.
• Problem-solving mindset, adaptability, and a willingness to learn.
• Preferred experience at companies specializing in small molecule therapeutics , such as Merck, Pfizer, AbbVie, Lilly, or BMS .
