Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Engineer to support an extensive digital modernization program critical to the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and Department of Defense (DoD) Fourth Estate Agencies.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain virtual desktop infrastructures within the Azure IL5 and IL6 cloud environments and ensure connectivity with DoD Fourth Estate Agency systems.
• Support the development and maintenance of privileged access workstations (PAW).
• Manage VDI resource pools in Azure IL5 and IL6 environments.
• Create custom virtual desktop images tailored to the needs of various DoD agencies.
• Monitor and resolve issues within the VDI infrastructure, collaborating with Tier 1-2 service desk personnel.
• Identify and implement innovations to enhance the user experience, increase efficiencies, and reduce sustainment costs.
• Ensure adherence to security best practices and guidelines, leveraging expertise in security policies, network security, and data protection.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 6+ years of experience.
• Active DoD Secret clearance
• At least 8 years of experience with Citrix.
• Proven expertise in designing, building, and maintaining VDI environments such as Azure Virtual Desktop, VMware Horizon, Amazon Workspaces, or Citrix.
• Comprehensive understanding of Federal Government security requirements, including NIST, FedRAMP, and FISMA.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within a distributed technical team.
• Familiarity with the Atlassian suite, including Jira and Confluence.
• Current IAT Level II (or higher) certification, such as Security+ or CISSP.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active DoD Secret clearance.
• Experience delivering VDI solutions for U.S. Government customers.
• Relevant certifications, such as Microsoft Certified Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty or VMware Certified Professional – End-User Computing.
