Job Details
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for corporations (both C and S corps), partnerships, and individuals.
2. Conduct tax planning and research to optimize tax strategies for our clients.
3. Ensure compliance with all state and local tax laws and regulations.
4. Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual tax provisions.
5. Work closely with clients to gather necessary information for tax return preparation and respond to tax-related inquiries.
6. Utilize tax software such as Lacerte and accounting software such as QuickBooks to prepare and review tax returns.
7. Stay updated on current tax practices and changes in tax law.
8. Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting.
9. Provide guidance and support to junior tax accountants.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA license or Master’s degree in Taxation is highly preferred.
2. A minimum of 3 years of experience in tax accounting, with a focus on corporate tax returns and tax planning.
3. Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
4. Proficiency in tax software such as Lacerte and accounting software such as QuickBooks.
5. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments.
6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
7. A commitment to delivering high-quality work to clients and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
8. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
9. A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to make sound decisions based on thorough research.
