Job Description

This is a part-time position. The ideal candidate will serve as a culture cultivator, an impartial on-field or on-the-court coach, and an advocate for our fitness and sports programs. Passionate about kids and youth sports.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

(Under the direction of the Youth Fitness Director)

• Teach/Mentor students in the realm of physical fitness and sports skills development
• Prepare materials, equipment to conduct planned activities that consist of squatting and lifting up to 50lbs.
• Engage in all program activities along with students, consisting of long periods of standing.
• Adhere to program policies and practices provided by the Youth Fitness Director.
• Must be timely and adhere to the attendance and punctuality policy.
• Must maintain the culture and brand of the company by being respectful, kind, and loving to everyone, at all times.
• Plan, organize, and lead activities designed to promote academic, social, emotional, and physical development in a supportive and engaging learning environment
• Create an emotionally responsive, caring, positive, and accepting environment supportive of the individual development of each child and family
• Supervise young children and ensure an environment including the ability to monitor and respond to events going on at all times in the classroom, outdoor play areas, and other areas of the campus
• Remains current in the area of sports and fitness coaching through professional organizations, literature, workshops, and in-service programs
• Evaluate each students growth and performance
• Prepare students for scrimmages in each sport: Basketball, Soccer, Flag football

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

• High School Diploma (Required)
• Some College or attending college

Experience:

• At least two years experience in a classroom or after school setting
• Experience coaching, refereeing, or assessing physical and sports-related development in young children
• Background and experience in any of the following sports are preferred: Basketball, Flag football, Soccer Special Knowledge and Skills:
• Professional verbal and written communications
• The ability to teach and explain organized sports skills to elementary students on a beginner and advanced level
• The ability to assess fitness in children and create solutions or activities to strengthen weak areas of their sports and fitness level
• Classroom management
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Team working skill
