We are seeking a Billing Specialist to join the growing office of a downtown Austin law firm.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Execute billing using legal accounting software and managing a workflow of an assigned group of attorneys and proformas on a monthly basis.
• Edit proforma narratives, fees and costs according to the Billing Attorney’s instructions.
• Generate invoices and proofread before mailing or submission to e-billing sites.
• Prepare and review matters for billing, especially electronic billing, by entering rates, matter identification numbers, claim numbers, claims representative name and other pertinent information required by the client.
• Manage invoice submissions to ensure the invoice has met the client’s requirements. Also confirm any errors have been resolved and the invoice is successfully accepted on the electronic billing website.
• Read and understand LEDES98B as well as other formats such as phase/task and activity codes to resolve errors.
• Understanding of rates, appeals, budgets, accruals and other components with e-billing platforms is required.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience working in an accounting department with legal industry highly preferred. Medical billing is not a good match.
• Must be available to work 8 hours per day M-F with possible overtime as needed.
• Experience handling at least 400-600 proformas per month to include heavy e-billing preferred.
• Experience with electronic billing and various websites such as Collaboration/Wolters Kluwer, Legal Exchange, Bridgeway/Corridor, CounselLink and Legal X.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.

Compensation plan includes base pay ($75-$85K+), benefits paid at 100% for employee, 401k w/ match, paid parking, annual raises & bonuses and other perks.
