Job Summary:

firstPro is seeking an entry level legal billing specialist to join a great team in the Smyrna, GA area. 

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation and processing of client invoices, ensuring accuracy and adherence to firm/client billing guidelines.
• Review attorney time entries for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with client billing agreements.
• Enter and maintain client billing data in the billing system.
• Generate and distribute client invoices in various formats (electronic and paper).
• Respond to client inquiries regarding billing matters in a professional and timely manner.
• Assist with the collection of outstanding invoices and follow up on delinquent accounts.
• Maintain accurate and organized billing records, both physical and electronic.
• Collaborate with attorneys and other staff members to resolve billing discrepancies.
• Assist with month-end and year-end billing processes.
• Stay up-to-date on changes in billing regulations and best practices.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (e.g., basic formulas, spreadsheets).
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with legal billing software (e.g., TimeSlips, Elite, PC Law).
• Familiarity with legal terminology and billing practices.
